📐 Comment Nous Calculons
The roofing calculator uses the following formula:
Slope Width = (Building Width / 2 + Overhang) / cos(Pitch)
Slope Length = Building Length + 2 × Overhang
Roof Area = 2 × Slope Width × Slope Length (for gable roof)
Sheet Area = Effective Width × Effective Length
Sheets Needed = ⌈(Roof Area / Sheet Area) × 1.05⌉
Ridge Length = Building Length + 2 × Overhang
Pitch Angle: The calculator accounts for roof slope by dividing by cos(pitch angle).
Safety Margin: We add 5% extra sheets for cutting waste and edge trim.
