Calculate Drywall

📐 كيف نحسب

The drywall calculator uses the following formula:

Sheet Area = 1.2m × 2.5m = 3.0 m²
Sheets Needed = ⌈Area / 3.0⌉
Metal Profile = Perimeter (if provided)
Screws = Area × 15 screws per m²
Joint Compound = Area × 0.5 kg/m²

Standard Sheet: Drywall sheets are typically 1.2m × 2.5m (3.0 m² per sheet).

Fixings: Around 15 screws per m² spaced 25-30cm apart on the frame.

About this drywall calculator

This drywall (plasterboard) calculator estimates how many sheets, screws and metres of metal profile you need to board out a wall or ceiling. Enter the area to cover and, optionally, the room perimeter. The tool divides the area by the standard 1.2 × 2.5 m sheet (3.0 m²), rounds up to whole sheets, and works out screws at about 15 per m² plus the framing profile.

It is handy for stud partitions, dry-lined walls and suspended ceilings. Boarding both faces of a partition? Enter the combined area of both sides.

🧮 مثال الحساب

For a 30 m² wall with a 22 m perimeter:

  • Sheet area = 1.2 × 2.5 = 3.0 m²
  • Sheets = 30 ÷ 3.0 = 10 sheets
  • Screws = 30 × 15 ≈ 450 screws
  • Profile ≈ perimeter (22 m) + verticals (30 ÷ 0.6) ≈ 72 m

Round sheets up to whole boards — offcuts rarely cover a full extra panel.

💡 Practical tips

  • Space studs at 600 mm centres so board edges land on a profile.
  • Use moisture-resistant board in bathrooms and kitchens.
  • Stagger board joints like brickwork to reduce cracking along seams.
  • Allow extra jointing compound and tape for taping and filling the seams.

الأسئلة الشائعة

A common plasterboard sheet is 1.2 m × 2.5 m, giving 3.0 m² per board. Other lengths exist, but the calculator uses this standard size.

Plan for about 15 screws per m², which is roughly 45 screws on a 3 m² sheet, spaced 25–30 cm apart along the studs.

A partition is boarded on both faces, so enter the combined area of both sides — for a 10 m² wall that means 20 m² of board.

The perimeter is optional. Adding it gives a more accurate metal profile estimate by including the edge tracks; without it, the tool falls back to a rough factor.
